improve sound pickup without affecting voice quality
Operates on battery or phantom power
The AT803 is designed to be worn as a lavalier or hidden in loose
clothing. For use as a lavalier, attach the microphone about six
inches below the chin. Anticipate movements that may cause the
microphone to rub against or be covered by clothing, and position
the microphone to avoid it.
The AT803 requires 11-52V DC phantom power, or a 1.5V AA
batter
y for operation. A battery need not be in place for phantom
power operation.
Battery installation: Remove the cap from the top of the power
module. Insert a fresh 1.5V AA battery (“+” end toward the
cap release button), then reassemble the power module. Alkaline
batteries are recommended for longest life. Remove the battery
during long-term storage.
Output from the power module's XLRM-type connector is low
impedance (Lo-Z) balanced. The signal appears across Pins 2
and 3; Pin 1 is ground (shield). Output phase is “Pin 2 hot”
positive acoustic pressure produces positive voltage at Pin 2.
To avoid phase cancellation and poor sound, all mic cables must
be wired consistently: Pin 1-to-Pin 1, etc.
An integral 80 Hz high-pass UniSteep
®
filter provides easy
switching from a flat frequency response to a low-end roll-off. The
roll-off position reduces the microphone’s sensitivity to popping in
close vocal use. It also reduces the pickup of low-frequency
ambient noise (such as traffic, air-handling systems, etc.), room
reverberation and mechanically coupled vibrations.
The microphone is RoHS compliant–free from all substances
specified in the EU directive on hazardous substances.
Avoid leaving the microphone in the open sun or in areas where
temperatures exceed 110° F (43° C) for extended periods.
Extremely high humidity should also be avoided.

This manual is encoded in PDF file format

The PDF (Portable Document Format) was created in the early 1990’s as a brand new way for computer users to share documents between each other, especially if one person has a PC and the other a Mac. The shared PDF will display exactly the same on both computers.

PDF was created by Adobe and is no maintained by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). It is a very interactive format and can contain buttons, links, audio, video, form fields, business logic and even electronic signatures. It can capture fonts, images as well as document texts and can also format documents from many different programs.

Most PDF viewers or the software used to view the PDF is provided free of charge. There are many options available including Scribus, pdfTex, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator as well as Google Docs. The most popular however is Acrobat Reader DC.

Why we provide Audio-Technica Headphones manuals in PDF?:

  • · PDF’s are incredibly convenient and are easy to open and read by everyone, regardless of whether they have a PC or Mac.
  • · A PDF can be compressed into a file size that is easy to email while still maintaining the quality of the images.
  • · A PDF file can be made incredibly secure as you can set up passwords, digital signatures and even watermarks.
  • · A PDF allows you input many different types of content including images, animations, 3D models, hyperlinks and buttons.

PDF’s do have their drawbacks such as:

  • · PDF’s can often be difficult to edit or to extract information from as it’s original intention was to make the exchange of documents easier.
  • · There are different types of PDF’s, especially when searching or extracting information.

If you have a document that you would like to convert into a PDF, there are many sites online that will do the conversion for you for free and very quickly. The same is true if you are looking to convert from PDF format into a different format. This is often a much easier way to edit a PDF.
